Delicious: Whiskey Meatballs

You won't get enough of these Whiskey Meatballs, perfect for a Superbowl party or just having a snack. This recipes is easy to make and can be done via a slow cooker or using the traditional oven.

INGREDIENTS:

SAUCE

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup whiskey or bourbon (Maker's Mark)

  • 2 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce



MEATBALLS

  • 1 cup Italian style breadcrumbs

  • 2 tsp Onion Powder

  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 4 tsp parsley

  • 2 Eggs, beaten

  • 2 lbs lean Ground Turkey



** If using frozen meatballs, combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 2 hrs. If otherwise follow the instructions below:

  1. Combine all of your sauce ingredients in a bowl and stir until the consistency is similar to that of barbecue sauce.

  2. Cover and set the sauce aside.  Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

  3. Combine all of the meatball ingredients in a large bowl and hand mix.  Mix until there are no standalone ingredients.

  4. Take a large cookie sheet and spray with cooking spray.

  5. Construct your meatballs by rolling roughly 3 tablespoons of meat in the palm of your hands. Continue with this process until there is no meat left. This recipe should yield 30 balls. Place each meatball on your greased cookie sheet.

  6. Place your meatballs in the oven and cook for 15 mins. 

  7. Remove your meatballs from the oven and coat with sauce.  Return them to the oven for an additional 10 mins. 

  8. Remove from oven, allow to cool and serve.
