If you're in the burbs looking for somewhere to go on an impromptu date night or just a night out with friends, Riddles is a great option. I had the opportunity to attend Riddles last night, Nov 30, for Just Nesh at Riddles Presented by Damon Williams.
The Club
Riddles Comedy club is located at 5055 West 111th Street in Alsip, IL. It sits in a strip mall which receives major traffic for two local restaurant favorites, Wingz It Is and El Gallo Tapatio. Riddles was originally established in June of 1990 and Damon Williams is now working to make it a comedy staple.
When first walking into the club you a greeted by a large middle bar, a corner box office and images don the walls of prior comedians. The show room sits behind a set of black double doors.

Upon opening the doors there is a large room with long black tables, chairs and a corner stage. The walls have branded imagery which would make for the perfect backdrop to any photo. There is also a large back DJ booth diagonal from the stage.
The Show
During the show, there is a 2 drink minimum. Serving started as soon guests began to be seated. There are variety of drinks at different price points for varying budgets. The club is cash only with gratuity being added automatically. I ordered a pineapple long island and a Corona. The long island was decent, not terrible but still not the best I've ever had.
The club boasts an older crowd, seemingly mid 40's and up. Instead of hearing the likes of Tekashi 69 or Cardi B, there was R Kelly and New Edition, which I can appreciate.
Damon Williams did an amazing job hosting the show and even brought out several guest comedians, some of which were better than others.

The night started out with a one amateur comedian whose name escapes me, she was a guest spot and ironically, in my opinion, was not funny. However, Damon came back to the stage and saved the show.
Although I had never seen Just Nesh before, being that she was the headliner, I was excited to see what was to come. There were also 3 other comedians - one who is also the host and DJ, Jay Deep, Buckwild and Marvin Mitchell. All the comedians did an exceptional job and made for a great show.
Overall, I would attend Riddles again. It was a great show and I ended the night with tacos just a few steps away.
P.S I would have taken more pictures and video but no phones were allowed during the show.
